Editorial standards
- Answer first. Each guide opens with the figure most readers came for.
- Sourced. Pay, pension and tax figures come from NHS Employers, the NHS Business Services Authority and GOV.UK. See the sources page.
- Calculated, not guessed. Numbers in tables and text are produced from the same calculation engine, so they agree with each other.
- Honest about limits. Where rules vary by employer or nation, we say so and point to the official source.
- No advice. Guides explain how pay works. They aren’t financial, tax or legal advice.
Correction policy
If you find an error, tell us the page, the figure and the source of the correct figure. We check it against the official source. If we find a mistake we correct the page, and for a material change we add a note on the updates page. We don’t quietly change figures that readers may have relied on.
Contact
Corrections and questions can be sent through the contact details on the site. Please don’t send payslips or personal data.
